rooted in the kitchen, savored at the table.

Hi, I’m Lisa, a recipe developer, holistic nutritionist, food photographer, and slow-living storyteller rooted in old-world tradition.

In my world, food is never just food. It’s a way of life. It’s how we connect, how we gather, and how we slow down to savor the everyday moments that matter most.

It’s the homemade gnocchi on birthdays, the fresh basil from the garden, and the kind of laughter that lingers long after the plates are cleared. For the joy of gathering and the stories we share around the table.

For the Love of Food that's Rooted in Tradition

I grew up in a large Italian family where life happened around the table. Homemade gnocchi on birthdays, tomato sauce simmering on the stove, flour-stained aprons, and stories shared between bites. It was simple, warm, and full of laughter.

I later spent a decade living in Italy, where I returned to my roots and learned from women who cooked from instinct, tradition, and heart. Food was never just food. It was family, heritage, and a way of bringing people together. That is the feeling I hope to bring to your table.

If I had to pinpoint where this all started, it would be around the kitchen table.

My first acre garden - best gnocchi Ever!

Starting my first garden changed everything. What began as a small patch of soil quickly became a deeper connection to the food I was creating, and the way I was living. Tending to herbs, vegetables, and the rhythm of the seasons brought a new understanding of where food begins, and a greater appreciation for the care it takes to grow it.

That first garden rooted me even more deeply in a life centered around intention, simplicity, and the joy of bringing something from seed to table.

Earning my Holistic Nutrition Educator certification marked a turning point in how I understand food, health, and healing. I began exploring the deeper connection between nourishment and well-being, learning how whole foods, mindful eating, and seasonal ingredients support a more vibrant life.

It gave me the boost for what I had always felt that food is more than sustenance, and that a well-fed life is deeply rooted.

Making sausage in the mountain village where we lived - Lazio, Italy

This chapter rooted me in my family’s from-scratch kitchen traditions, where every recipe begins with care and is meant to be shared.

For ten unforgettable years, I lived in the heart of the Italian countryside, immersed in a farm-to-table way of life shaped by the seasons. In a small mountain village, I learned the foundations of traditional Italian cooking, from harvesting fresh herbs to simmering rustic sauces, and honoring the slow, intentional rhythms of homemade food.

In May of 2026, My Weathered Table opens its doors. What once lived quietly behind the scenes is now a place to gather, to learn, and to share in the simple rhythms of seasonal cooking and slow living.

A table set for connection, where every recipe, story, and moment is meant to be savored.

the start of
something good

My Weathered Table began as a quiet idea, shaped by everything I had been growing, cooking, and creating over the years.

It was a way to bring together my love of seasonal food, thoughtful living, and the stories that unfold in the kitchen. A space rooted in intention, where food, memory, and creativity could live side by side.

Very first food photo!

Receiving my first digital camera opened a new way of seeing the food I was creating. What began as a simple photograph slowly grew into a deeper form of storytelling, where light, texture, and emotion came together to capture the beauty of homemade meals.

It allowed me to share not just recipes, but the feeling of being in the kitchen itself.

Creating recipes from scratch became a natural extension of everything I'd learned. Rooted in what I was growing and guided by the seasons, each dish began as a simple idea that took shape slowly in the kitchen.

Over time, cooking became more than a practice. It became a way of sharing and bringing something meaningful to the table.

Living in Italy taught me to slow down and pay attention. Ingredients were seasonal, meals were intentional, and nothing felt rushed. That slower-paced lifestyle stayed with me. It changed how I approach everything from how I choose ingredients. to how I spend time preparing them, and the joy spent with family and friends around my weathered table.

How did your time in Italy shape the way you cook today?

To me, a weathered table tells a story. It reflects years of meals shared, hands at work, and moments that stay with you. It's not about perfection. It's about presence. This name is a reminder that the most memorable moments in the kitchen are often the simplest gathered around the table.

What does “My Weathered Table” mean to you?

My Weathered Table was created from a desire to return to a slower, more grounded way of living. After years spent in Italy, where food, family, and daily life felt deeply connected, I wanted to bring that same feeling into everyday kitchens here at home. This space is my way of sharing that rhythm with you, through seasonal recipes, simple ingredients, and time spent around the table.

Why did you create My Weathered Table?

From My Table to Yours

Most of my inspiration comes from simple things. What is in season, what is growing, or even a quiet memory of a meal I once had. I'm drawn to recipes that feel grounded and repeatable, the kind you come back to again and again.

What inspires you when you’re creating in the kitchen?

What do you hope people will get from my weathered table?

I hope this space feels calm and welcoming. Like stepping into a kitchen where something is always slowly coming together. More than anything, I hope it encourages you to slow down, trust yourself, and find comfort in simple, well-made food and the community that share it.
